International Study Trips
This April SEAUTON is organizing for the 11th consecutive time the international study trip of HOWEST's professional bachelor students to San Francisco.
The international study trip organised for students of the departments of New Media & Communication Technology, Industrial Product Design, and Digital Arts & Entertainment combines cultural visits and visits to top companies in Silicon Valley such as Adobe, Apple, Cisco, Google, Facebook and Pixar.
In 2010, the trip was extended with an extra holiday for all the students. Due to the ash cloud, one group stranded in Atlanta (28 people), another group in New York (82 people) and the last group had to prolong their stay in San Francisco (45 people).
"I would like to thank everybody from Seauton for a superb job done,
both in the US and in Belgium.
I could not have imagined going through this experience with another travel
agency. For me personally it was an enormous reassurance to know
Seauton was behind us as a team.
Because of your super efficient way of communicating and your
professionalism in handling this unexpected situation, Seauton has "saved"
the image of HOWEST in this precarious situation.
My sincere thank you for this. For this 9th consecutive time, a
confirmation of our trust in you !!"
Rik Leenknecht, Programme Coordinator DAE, HOWEST
Thanks to SEAUTON staff accompanying each group, immediate action was taken to find suitable accommodation for all students, to negotiate return flights with the airline companies and -in cooperation with HOWEST faculty- to set-up a programme of activities for the students including company visits (Coca Cola company, CNN), free festival tickets, sponsored lunches (picnic in Central Parc) and dinners (BBQ on the beach), sightseeing tours, ... Even a laundry session in the wasomatic was organized and a live performance of flemish classics on Times Square! Unique video's of the events:
SEAUTON ensured a clear and daily communication with the home base. Finally, the HOWEST students were amongst the first groups to arrive back in Belgium.
The unexpected extension of the trip became for everybody concerned an unforgettable experience.
We all arrived safe and well home. Everybody is enthousiastic about the trip. The best ever, they say…
