Seauton alumni are our best ambassadors.

Although they all take different paths after their career at SEAUTON, we like to keep in touch with our alumni. Not just because we are curious – and very  proud - about what they are doing, but also because they are our best ambassadors. They have one thing in common: they are all  perfectionists and go-gettersSpeaking this time: Eva Dillen.

Worked at Seauton from September 2013 until April 2016.

It has been a while since you worked at SEAUTON. Where do you work now and what are you doing there?

“I am currently working as a consultant for The House of Marketing. Sorry, as what exactly? Digital marketing projects at different companies in various industries. Strategic consulting projects as well as temporary assignments in support of the marketing team. My work is extremely varied. Just like at Seauton, there is always something new to learn, which I think is great!”

What is your favourite story or anecdote from your time at SEAUTON?

At Seauton, only the best is good enough for our customers. In other words: we always select the very best boutique hotels, the most original restaurants and the most surprising locations all over the world. We know our way around the world... and we like to go on the odd city break ourselves from time to time. A while ago, a group of colleagues spent a weekend in Amsterdam, for example. The travel experts that we are, we booked a hotel that looked fabulous, but on arrival we didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The hotel was under construction: the reception had been moved to a narrow corridor, there were holes in the walls with electric wires hanging out everywhere, the lift was out of order, the toilets were housed in lovely portable cabins out on the street (in the middle of winter) and the bathroom taps were not working. The Seauton ladies certainly spent their city break in style... Fortunately, we had each other’s company to enjoy and, on this occasion, we felt it was better to have a good laugh rather than cry!

Which advice would you give to people who are dreaming of a career at SEAUTON?

A few tips I would like to share with you: a well-prepared project manager is worth his or her weight in gold. Always try to have a plan B... and a plan C! Things will go wrong sometimes ;) Also: don’t take things too seriously. Sometimes things don’t work out as planned, but you can deal with the events as they present themselves. My work for Seauton also taught me that little things can make a big difference! A welcome card in a hotel room, a personalised note on a city map addressing the guest by name... Customers tend to appreciate those little things the most. And let’s not forget my ‘golden rule’: work hard, play hard! It’s hard work, but it’s great fun too! The places you go, the colleagues you meet... And there is so much fun to be had when you are not working too!
