Leuven
Client case
A national symposium on the 'New Standards' within the domain of Rectal Cancer Treatment.

What? The initiative was taken in 2016 to organise the first “Towards New Standards” symposium, in which UZ Leuven Guidelines & Standards in a particular field of medicine would be discussed. The symposia take place every year when a different subject is addressed. The aim is to encourage healthcare professionals to reflect about the New Standards in their respective areas of expertise in Belgium and further afield. In 2016 the focus was on Rectal Cancer Treatment. The multidisciplinary approach, involving both local and international experts, aims to achieve an improvement in the treatment of rectal cancer patients through the expertise and experience presented.

Target audience? Healthcare professionals with expertise in rectal cancer.

Number of participants? 250 participants and 12 sponsors

What was the result of the collaboration?

  • The client, in this case, Professor Dr. D'Hoore and the Scientific Committee, will maintain focus on its core activity, while Seauton will take as much out of their hands as possible.
  • The symposium was fully booked; positive reactions were received from the 12 sponsors, the participants and the organising committee.
  • A profit-generating project that laid the foundation for future national and international symposia.
  • The sponsors and participants have already confirmed that they will take part in Towards New Standards 2017.
  • A community has been established, which is being kept lively throughout 2017.

Seauton’s professionalism and personal commitment have contributed significantly to the success of our symposium and have given us the confidence to continue this project.
